Helen Back is a solution-focussed psychotherapist, counsellor, relationship counsellor, clinical hypnotherapist, public speaker and author who specialises in treating depression and anxiety. She also has a special interest and talent for treating phobias.
Helen, herself, suffered severe depression before becoming a psychotherapist. What she learned about depression in her training was life changing. And she believes that the world needs to know what she learned. She underwent her qualification at Brighton University in England with Uncommon Knowledge and has forged a reputation in London and Australia as an empowering and effective therapist. Her clients can take comfort in knowing that she has walked the well-trodden path of depression, and found her way back to Contentment. Her style and techniques incorporate latest research from the UK and US and include solution-focussed psychotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, hypnotherapy, NLP, human givens therapy and the development of emotional intelligence. Helen empowers and equips her clients to continue to improve and evolve, emotionally & behaviourally, after work with her has concluded.
Helen ran a private Harley Street practice in London, where she specialised in treating depression and anxiety. She lectures and advises organisations on stress management, employee bullying, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, effective communication, change management, employee wellbeing and EQ Leadership & Development.
Helen now resides on Australia’s Sunshine Coast with her husband and two Jack-Russell Terriers. She has been a guest on Fox FM’s Hamish & Andy show and has been invited to appear on other Fox FM Productions throughout Australia. She has also been a guest expert on MMM Radio, Australia and Capital FM, London. She is the author of the depression self-help book, “Happy Apples”. It is her first book, written for anyone who has been touched by depression—whether personally or through a close family member or friend. It is written for the sole purpose of empowering depression sufferers to re-stake their claim to a happy life, and then provides the tools with which to do so. It is available on all major on-line stores and here on the happy apples website in both e-book and paperback. Her methods are tried and tested with thousands of clients, throughout several countries and spanning more than a decade.
