In Chapter 7 Happy Apple 11: Besties I talk about how the way we talk to and treat ourselves is directly linked to how we feel about ourselves. If you say nasty things to yourself, constantly put yourself down, starve yourself or abuse yourself with poor diet and personal hygiene, you're not going to feel very good. Most people treat their worst enemies to more consideration and kindness than they treat themselves. This is a way to bring this to your own attention. Following on from this Happy Apple, below is the Friendship Measure, of you to scale and monitor how you're treating yourself. Think of it as an intervention from Social Services for mistreatment. This form monitors changes in that treatment of yourself.
